Spring Break 2012: Part 1

Last year we went to the Great Wolf Lodge and I swore up and down I'd never go back.  Well, here I am a year later to say I went back on my word.  We went again.  It's the next best thing to Disney for kids and it's much closer and more cost-effective.  Vegas for kids and hell for adults.  Or at least close for me.  Hillbilly holiday....that's right.  I said it.  Now, that saying, it wasn't as bad as last year - probably because I knew what was coming and I also knew strategies to make it more bearable.   In order to keep my sanity I made sure to walk outside everyday with Avery and we ate dinner and a few other meals off the premises.  During one meal at the 'Lodge' when I asked for a side of broccoli for Avery they seemed to think it needed butter and a side of cheese.  Just broccoli please!  Yes, some folks like vegetables, in the raw.  Even babies!  Sophia had a blast doing her Magiquest thing and going in the water.  I did go on a few water rides with her which was fun.  Avery, who I thought would love the water ended up crying when his feet touched it -- I'm thinking it was too cold because that boy loves to take baths and splash about.  Hopefully he will enjoy the warm ocean water this summer more!  The kids were happy, especially Sophia.  And that made it all worth doing.

One more year of the Great Wolf Lodge down.
Me thinks next year we will be doing something else :)
