Adenoids & Tubes

Tomorrow morning Sophia goes in to get her adenoids out and tubes put in her ears.  She is actually excited about it -- despite knowing it's surgery and that she will be sore afterwards.  She has been asking lots of questions, which is great.  However, when the question of, "What kinds of tools will they use Mommy?" came up, I had to pause.  Not just because I don't really know, but I'm sure they are sharp, etc.  So, I said, you are welcome to ask the doctor tomorrow, I'm not too sure. :)

She is excited to get the attention and special treatment that comes with this.  She requested I bring her yellow tulips in the surgery center (The girl knows what she wants.  Can't fault her for that!).  She also wanted to see if her Uncle Mike and family would come and visit.  Sure enough, they will be here on Saturday to see how she's doing.  "Make sure Jackson knows I just had surgery.  No wrestling," she says.

My Mom is watching Avery in the morning which I'm grateful for so we can focus on Sophia.  I'm a bit nervous, but not too bad.  I don't like the idea of her going under anesthesia, but there's not much I can do except be supportive and trust the procedure.  It's all in the name of less ear infections and antibiotic use.

I'm sure she will do great and I'll give the full report afterwards. :)
