1. Sophia is now up on two wheels (finally!)and happy as can be!
It's so neat to see how proud of herself she is! It will be a fun summer!
2. She is doing some reading. It's so amazing to watch her read us the stories that we have read to her over the last five years and we love her enthusiasm about it.
3. She got a 'new' big girl bed frame. This bed has a special story though. It belonged to Catherine, the woman who used to live in our house, which also was in Sophia's room (which was Catherine's). And, it is a beautiful, old iron bed. Our neighbors, who happen to be the daughter and son-in-law to Catherine, were selling it at a garage sale last spring. Our neighbor was setting it out before it started and I asked if it was for sale. Then I asked if it was Catherine's bed because I remembered seeing it in our house when we were looking to buy it thinking wow, that is a gorgeous bed, I wonder if they would sell it to us with the house. I figured no since it was in the family. Lo and behold, here it is almost two years later!!
I told Sophia the special story behind it. I'm sure when she is older she will appreciate it more. I am so glad she likes it as Sean and I had some trepidation given she has been in her other 'big girl' bed for some time now. We told her that we will be saving that special bed for her brother. :)
