It's been a tough week. Between cancelled school last week for ice days, Sophia out for a few earlier this week due to a bad cough, and feeling cooped up in this pregnant body, I'm officially over winter. I desperately miss being outside and seeing the sun shine on a more regular basis. Good thing March is right around the corner. In my mind, it's sort of like the month of hope...you can see and smell spring on the horizon. Right now, it's just plain purgatory.

So I'm making dinner tonight and here's a little snippet of conversation between Sophia and I:
S (appearing in the kitchen with a crown on and necklace): "I'm going to a party tonight with Dad. A dance party. I'm a princess and he's the prince."
Me: "Wow, that sounds fun. Can I come along, too?"
S: "No, Mom. You can be the chef."
Wow. How's that for a warm fuzzy??
I guess I'll get back to being the chef.

On a sentimental note - a few days ago when Sean was headed out of town for work I decided to put a little note in his bag. Sophia, of course, wanted to know what I was up to, so I told her and she went straight to work on her own little 'note' but for me (ha!). I acknowledged her and said that sounded great. Meanwhile, fast forward to that night as I pulled the covers down to get into bed....low and behold there was her little 'note' - a colored dinosaur page we had done together previously but had some additional glitter and M-O-M written on it. I was so taken aback I immediately started crying. It was one of the sweeter moments in parenthood. I went down to her room, gave her a little kiss on her forehead, told her thank you and that I loved her.
