When Sophia's babysitter didn't show up today on time, I called and texted. It seemed uncharacteristic, but I wasn't too worried, since I figured since she has a night shift job a few days a week and accidentally overslept. Nonetheless, when she called and that is what indeed happened, I had a conversation with Sophia about what it means to make a mistake. I explained that in this situation Lynne* (protecting the innocent here) accidentally set her alarm for the wrong time and overslept.
Sophia responded, "I don't make mistakes."
"Well, everyone does, and you will sometimes, too."
"No I won't."
"Why don't you think you will make mistakes? You are human, honey."
"Because I don't have an alarm clock."
