Avery is growing like a weed! At his appointment today he weighed in at 8 lbs. 15.5 oz. - almost a whole nine pounds! It's amazing how quickly infants grow and change. I could tell just by how he feels -whether it be in the crook of my neck, laying on my chest, or cradling him in my arms, that he has filled out a bit. Every day he looks a little more 'grown up' to me. I can't even believe it's already been three weeks! I have really been enjoying him - he is affectionately know as my sugar lump or my bud-bud. It's so funny how little nicknames evolve, isn't it? I certainly didn't have those in mind before he came along. Some of my favorite moments with him are when he lies peacefully on my chest or next to me in bed, and of course, nursing him is special time, too.
He's a good baby so far, only giving us a crying bout one time for a two hour stretch. I'm not holding my breath - of course there are and will continue to be difficult times with him, but so far, so good. Despite the sleep deprivation, I know my first name, how to spell it, and where I live. I'm just a bit slower on the uptake these days :)
