Last year for Sophia's 4th birthday Sean and I decided to get her an American Girl doll. This was quite a leap for us as we both felt overwhelmed walking into such an over-the-top girly store in Chicago. However, the more time we spent in there, the more we got into it. Needless to say, the doll was a total flop. She didn't take any interest in her. Until now. About a week ago, Sophia has become bffs with her doll, who she has named "Lena." My sneaky suspicion is that she became ultra interested in Lena when we had a neighborhood babysitter over the other night who mentioned to Sophia she also had an American Doll. Why would this have such an impact? Well, I'm thinking it's because Sophia is in absolute love with this babysitter and adores her to the very bone. Of course, Lena has also become part of the family now. Sophia dresses her, combs her hair, etc. She even had to go to Mother's Day tea with us! It's a cute phase so we will go with it. And oh, I am supposed to drop Lena off at her school after Sophia's - because Sophia is 21 and Lena is 12.
Sophia has also informed us that when she is 26 she is going to be a vet. And a cat-only vet. I hope she gets lots of allergy shots, because I sort of believe her.
