For Sophia's spring break we decided to get away for a little family trip to the Great Wolf Lodge. I think I had to take some time to digest the whole thing before posting because it was all at once fun and yet overwhelming. Don't get me wrong: Sophia had a blast - it was like Las Vegas for kids - complete with swimming, water slides, arcade, treats, scavenger hunt (MagiQuest), storytime, you name it. Sophia could hardly stand it. However, I could hardly stand it at times either, but for other reasons. I'm not one to revel in a closed-in area, let alone one full of hundreds of kids with nothing but kid activities around and bad food. I'm all for family vacations, but next time it may be one that is not enclosed and not just all about kids and pizza. Needless to say, here are a few photos from the trip. Let the Great Wolf Lodge experience rest in peace.
Sophia doing Magiquest with her wand.
Air hockey (which was totally fun, as was Skee-ball).
In the wave pool...
We did escape the confines one night to seek out some local/organic food. We found a delicious little place called the Wildflower Cafe. Here, Sophia eats the edible orchid.
Getting her (temporary!) tattoo...
Wiped out!!
