Big Blog Break

There has been so much going on that I can't seem to sit down to capture it all.  Since the beginning of May we've had a girls 40th trip, Mother's day, Avery milestones, Avery's upcoming 1st birthday, cousins birthdays, Sophia's last day of Pre-K, and picnics with friends.  All good stuff but a busy calendar and working many nights of the week isn't leaving much energy to blog :)

Avery is just about 1.  Can't believe it.  His new milestones and tricks include:

1)  the new found game of dropping things.  I hate this game and refuse to retrieve the water cup he pushes off his highchair time and time again.  It was cute at first.  At first.


2)  Loves to manipulate things.  Whatever he can find that will turn, twist, fall, slam, open, close, click.  This is his thing.

3)  He is not much for loud noises.

4)  He seems to like the piano.  Both 'playing' it and listening to it.  This, we like very much :)

5)  Is still a screech owl.  No words yet.  Lots of screeching to show excitement and frustration.

6)  Still has a great laugh and smiles a lot.

7)  Beginning to cruise.  Does NOT like the exersaucer or bouncer anymore.  Too confining.  This is a very bittersweet milestone.

8)  He has almost nine teeth.  Seems almost like a full set :)  We have begun to brush.

9)  His favorite go-to places in the house are:  the toilet, the toilet brush, the trash can, any outlet, cupboards he can open, the shower door, and stairs.  Are you seeing the trend here??

10)  I am trying very hard to hold onto the baby that's left in him.  It's going waaaaay too fast.
