That's what I am much of the time; the regulator of sleep, food, habits, manners, time-outs, nap times, quiet time, play time, tv time, you name it. It's like border-control as a full-time job and then some. I type this as I just poured myself a glass of wine and finished reading some of the dearest books to my daughter. This parenting thing really wears me out, but it only takes that one spontaneous hug out of nowhere or resting her head on my chest to read to keep those weary moments all worth it.
As a random side-note we just bought the book, "Me...Jane" which is fantastic - both for its story (about Jane Goodall) and it's beautiful illustrations. It's a treasure.
And, in the words of Olivia's mother as she tucks Olivia into bed,
"You really wear me out. But I love you anyways."
