Top 10 Wishes for a Mom of Little Ones (this one, at least)

Some days are good, some are bad.  Right now, I'm feeling a little Mom-fried and most of 'Chris' has been banished to the margins of MOM so I thought I'd share a little wish list going through my head:

1.  Sleeping in.  Defined mostly by the ability to wake up on one's own accord as opposed to a child crying or coming in the room telling you to wake up.

2.  Accessorize.  Scarves, dangly earring, necklaces and big rings to wear without the worry of lead poisoning for my child or choking hazards.

3.  Going grocery shopping or any errand for that matter. ALONE.  And not constituting a mini-vacation.

4.  Getting in the car, ALONE and the ability to blare Eminem or any other obscene and violent rap that cannot be heard within a child's range.

5.  Looking put together.  With an accessory.  Or two.  This may include heels.

6.  Looking put together for something bigger than errands or your own sanity.  Like a dinner, vacation, etc.

7.  Eating a meal slowly.  Chewing food, tasting food.  And drinking.  Lots of drinking good wine or good coke & bourbon without the worry of breastfeeding later.

8.  Doing household chores while baby is asleep without the inherent panic that he will wake up at any minute, thereby ruining any opportunity to make the bed, shower, pick up, do laundry, make dinner, etc.

9.  A vacation.  An adult only vacation that is longer than 24 hours.  (Working on that one.  Here we come May!!)

10.  Reconnecting with friends.  By the end of the day, I'm wiped.  I have nothing really left in the tank for anyone, so all conversations or phone calls go out the window.  Remember the days when we used to talk for hours, minutes??  What did we talk about again?
