Sophia turns 5!

I'm overdue posting this, but better late than never.  Sophia had her birthday party early this year, on August 19th. She opted for a pool party at the Worthington Community Center.  I think it's safe to say she and her little friends had a blast.  And a few memories were made, too.  Andrea, my good (and very talented friend) made her birthday cake (along with my input of course!) and my Mom made her infamous layered jello for the occasion. All it took was some good friends and family, pizza, jello and cake and my five year old was as happy as a clam.  I feel so mixed about this birthday - excited for Sophia as she embarks on becoming a full-fledged 'kid', but a bit wistful that her babyhood is a thing of the past.  She is excited about her new role as a big sister and it is fun to see her participate in babyhood the second time around as a sibling.  She never ceases to come up with something interesting to say or do that makes parenthood so fun.

Happy 5th Birthday our Sophia Joy!
